Holydays 🙏🏼
In 2019 we decided to go with some friends (and my mum who sneaked in with us) to the Pirquinco lagoon that is in the Mountain range of the 8th region. We stayed for five days camping. It's an experience that I will always remember, because of how challenging, funny and beautiful it was.
We took a bus at 5 in the morning to cross the region, we were very loaded with the tent, the bags, and everything we needed, it was also summer and it was very hot. It took us a long time to get to the base of the mountain, so we started walking around 12pm. Despite the fatigue we were excited, the web pages said that it was a distance of medium difficulty, 3 to 5 hours of walking, so we had time to take some breaks and arrive well.
We managed to walk for an hour and we took the first break to eat, but I think we relaxed too much, because after that break we felt much more tired, and going up was more and more difficult, we rested every 20 minutes, and one of my friends was totally exhausted, she stopped every five minutes, she felt so bad that we had to take turns carrying her things, it was something challenging both physically and mentally. As it had been my idea to go there, I tried to encourage everyone, especially my friend. that moment put our companionship to the test, after all it's not easy having to carry the weight of another when you are so tired. but despite this the view was beautiful all the way.
Around 22pm we arrived at a place full of rocks, which for us were gigantic, we literally had to climb, at this moment we only wanted to lie down and sleep there, also we didn't see anything in the dark. until a person appeared and we asked him how much was left, he said - one minute, it's here - we couldn't believe it, we were about to give up and stay on the rocks, we felt so happy. Later we made friends with the young man we found and nicknamed him "Erik Angel" for his miraculous appearance.
We rested, we saw the stars in the night sky and at the next day we woke up with the beautiful view of the lagoon, it was a great reward for the effort. The following days we rested a lot, and we had a great time exploring the place.
I hope to return soon, or go somewhere as beautiful, but first I must start training so as not to die in the attempt.
