Don't look up
About cinema, I love it. I'm not a great connoisseur, but I do enjoy watching movies a lot, and sometimes when I really like the movie and it's an interesting topic, I look for interviews with the director and the actors.
I usually like to watch classic movies and documentaries, but lately I've been watching a lot of Korean and Japanese movies. There are a lot of hidden treasures in Asian cinema.
But the film that I will comment on in this post has nothing to do with what I just mentioned, it’s a film, a comedy, that came out recently. The internet was full of images about the movie and the actors, so I decided to watch it.
It's called “Don't Look Up”, it's about a PhD candidate astronomer who discovers a comet that is coming towards earth, and could cause the end of the world, so she and her guide professor are involved in a series of situations regarding the disclosure of this information.
The movie has a lot to do with the media, politics, and politicians, it makes fun of many topics and also makes you reflect on them. It's much deeper than I expected, I had a lot of fun watching it, I know that half of those who watched the movie found it bad.
But I loved it, it's a Satire so you have to see it from that perspective. I don't want to give spoilers so I just recommend you to see it and join my team of those who liked it. hehe
I think from now on I will watch more comedies.
